July 19 metropolis montreal
Nice to be in the French speaking zone and the weather is gorgeous and of course the day is long and mighty of the inside of the club. Last time I was here, a certain soundman had a psychobilly freak out and ruined everyones day. Today , though , will be different. Things are shaping up to be real smooth, and it is nice that the ladies all have a few friends here. The show has sold well, and brian the promoter is in flying form. They have laid out a gorgeous spread of a French breakfast, which only solidifies the sweetness of the day. And building on the momentum of last nights show, the eagles tee it up and the ladies whack it out of the park. The crowd is wild again tonight, and get even crazier when the eagles come out to be the hankie code dancers. That red bandana in big hands pocket must be scaring the bejasus out of the punters who may be thinking that rocking the shocker with this cat might lead to a fissurectomy. After settlement, I have a drink with the de costas, and head back to the hotel.
July 20 montreal off
Stay out of my room stay out of the papers stay out of jail. Paper work and pho with droadie and the de costas and then some crappie rose. The moules frites earlier in the day were rocking. Finally we board the bus and go to boston.
July 21 boston Avalon
Just the two of us tonight, neal and his young assistant have laid out a gorgeous spread for us and we are looking forward to a nice day in the fenway. Kates and his assistant Brenda o keefe are in attendance, as are the malloy brothers, and even ms auf der maur is in the house. The show is rocking, though it is the first and only time I notice a little drop off after the eagles set. It is a disco load out tonight on Lansdowne street. Not a fan of this, but the locals do a great job of sorting us out. Afterwards there is a bbq party from blue ribbon bbq in Newton, and we move the Guinness drinking to the bus. Tomorrow is a hometown gig for a few of us and we are excited to get home.
July 22 nyc irving plaza
Since we downsized from roseland, the show is sold out. But before all this I get the kids in a hotel early, park the bus, get a ride home, see the ro/c and junior, and boy is it nice to be home for a minute, and before I know it , I am back to iriving with a production meeting with jeff Webster and his crew and like I said, it is real nice to be home. It is a zoo tonight, and maybe ms nisker and I are not hitting it off today , but hey it is nyc , it is a mad house and everyone is stressed out. Her sis is in the house and the j bird has flown in l.a., not to mention some of the blisters in the upstairs lounge. The show is good as usual, I had made it out with the missus and dr lerner and the bitches of bushwick. Tis a great night all round, and I real treat to be home, if only for the day.
July 23 philadelphia TLA
We get parked up nice and proper and Malcolm and his guys get us looked after real well.
Dr hankenstein will be in attendance tonight, as will the zach. It is a well attended show, and the first night with dad boy and the elephantmen. I don/t rate them much, I just want to eat a cheese steak and hang out with the hankster. But alas, we are here to work, and I am filming the show. I say my adieus and get us back to the shack. Easy drive to towson tomorrow.
